이슬람 문화권에서 가장 오래된 세계 지도

The oldest surviving world maps come from medieval Islamic culture.

This example, a fourteenth-century copy of a presumed tenth-century original, is unusual in being oblong instead of round. South is at the top. The Mediterranean Sea is in blue in the lower right quadrant, with the Nile River extending upward until it ends in two sets of smaller streams at the Mountains of the Moon. Other bodies of water are green, except for the Encircling Sea that surrounds the entire map. The yellow square is Mecca.

현존하는 가장 오래된 세계지도들은 주로 중세 이슬람 문화권에서 나온 것들이라고 합니다.

그 중 이 지도가 대표적인 예인데요

이 지도는 알이드리시 지도보다 앞선 10세기 경의 지도를 필사한 것으로 추정되는 14세기의 세계지도입니다.

청나일강, 백나일강 상류에 '달의 산'을 그려 놓은게 앙증맞습니다.
(알이드리시 지도 처럼 방위는 꺼꾸로 입니다. 지도 위쪽이 남쪽이 되겠습니다
-  '달의 산'의 존재는 우리나라의 '혼일강리역대국도지도'가 확실히 아랍의 영향을 받았다는 증거가 될 듯 합니다)

초딩이 그린 산 사이에서 얼굴을 내민 햇님같다고나 할까요.

TO지도의 중심은 예루살렘이였던 것처럼

이 그림에서는 메카가 가장 중심에 자리잡고 있습니다.

 

그런데, 이 지도의 이름은 무엇인가요??? 그건 안나와 있어서..
