<Salt-crystal growth and niche formation.>

Salt-crystal growth is most prominent where permeable sandstones overlie relatively impermeable shales.
As a result, water seeps out at the contact between the two rock types,
and salt-crystal growth in the sandstone creates a niche.

 

사암은 투수성인데, 셰일은 불투수성이란 점이 결정적 원인입니다.
소금이 녹아서 사암을 관통하여 셰일층을 만나면서
소금물 중에서 물은 증발하고 소금은 결정이 되면서 틈을 벌립니다.
