This image, taken during a drought,
shows the variety of mammals and birds visiting a scarce watering hole in Gorongosa National Park over the course of one day.
This fleeting resource is vital during the dry season, which occurs between June and October.
During this period, the Mussicadzi River no longer flows and water in the ecosystem diminishes
– species are forced to congregate atavailable pools until the rains arrive in December
